Cain Luong brings a hospitality-first mindset to residential design—because the best spaces don’t just look good, they feel good to live in. She started her career managing fine-dining restaurants before earning a Bachelor’s in Interior Architecture, and for the past 13 years she’s designed everything from urban condos to model homes and multimillion-dollar residences across the country.
Now, as Founder + Principal Designer of Salt Air Design Studio in San Diego, Cain leads design projects from concept through installation with a methodical, client-centered process—clear communication, precise drawings, and thoughtful execution. She’s the first to say a pretty room doesn’t mean much if it doesn’t function beautifully too: the flow has to make sense, storage has to work, and the details have to be considered so everyday life feels easier, not harder.
Her favorite reset is a change of scenery - a new city to explore, and new restaurants to try. Her partner Steve and 2 dachshunds keep her grounded (and makes sure she takes breaks).
